Why Make Hot Chocolate in a Crock Pot?

When you make hot chocolate in a slow cooker, you don’t have to worry about it scorching. The slow process ensures even heat, so all you have to do is stir it every 30 minutes. This is great if you are doing other things since you don’t have to stand over stirring constantly like you do when you make hot cocoa on the stove top.

Once your hot chocolate is ready, you can set your Crock-Pot to warm. This will keep it from getting cold and allows you more flexibility in when you serve the cocoa. You may even want to make it ahead of time and sitting on warm when your kids come inside from playing in the cold.

This Crock Pot Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate recipe also makes a great addition to a Hot Cocoa Bar. You can make the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate ahead of time. Then set it to warm and place the slow cooker on a buffet with mugs and toppings and let everyone make their own mug of hot chocolate.
