We have tested a lot of adidas golf polos over the years and we have always been happy with the performance on offer. This continues with this Heat.Rdy model, which is made from 100% recycled materials, with the fabric featuring Heat.Rdy technology, built in, that provides ventilation and a coolness to it.

The look of the polo is fairly simple, but the kind of wave design adds something a little different, as did the grey cuffs on the arms. Sure, more colors would be great, but those who want a simple, well-performing polo will be happy with this model. What's more, we think the price is pretty reasonable as well.

The Heater polo from Travis Mathew is about as good as a polo gets. The four-way stretch allows you to feel mobile and athletic while playing, while the lightweight fabric made from 70 percent recycled polyester helps keep you cool and comfortable for the duration of your round.

The enhanced quick-dry material is quick drying and keeps you cool, whether you’re on for your lowest round of the season or on the clubhouse patio in the sun. With an abundance of color options, there is a Heater polo to suit everyone's style and will keep you looking good on and off the course.

The Iso-Chill polo is one of the standout garments from the Under Armour range with theIso-chill fabric working rapidly to remove heat away from the body and cool you down in hot conditions.

Featuring a loose fit and a four-way stretch material, it also allows for freedom of movement when you're swinging the golf club, with the sweat wicking and anti-odor material allowing you to play 18 holes and remain comfortable enough to go straight for a refreshing beverage after.

The all-over wave print design on the Madden polo shirt may send your brain into a spin but, undoubtedly, looks modern and stylish. Inspired by coastal views of scenic ocean courses, the design really grows on you and it certainly received plenty of attention on its first few outings, attracting lots of positive comments.

The fit is snug, but not excessively tight, plus the Ventil8 Plus fabric is really effective at keeping you cool and comfortable on the hottest of days. We particularly enjoyed the look and feel of the tailored collar, which has more structure to it than most. Available in six eye-catching colors, this polo shirt would be a welcome addition to any golfer’s wardrobe.

Puma MATTR Grind Polo Shirt

The Puma MATTR Grind polo is great for use all year round, with its moisture wicking technology performing well in hot and drizzly conditions. Not only is it quick drying, but it kept us comfortable in various temperatures.

Another stand out is the four way stretch material, which doesn't provide any restrictions in the swing. All of this is achieved whilst keeping the polo breathable and comfortable to wear. Finally, if you are out on a sunny day, then the UPF 40+ will help to keep you protected from the sun's rays.

A modern take on a classic design, this stylish polo from G/FORE is made from fine tech jersey fabric with added stretch for maximum mobility. It features four buttons and classic tennis tail hem, with a subtle silicone G/FORE logo on the left breast.

As you’d expect from a premium product, the polo performed exceptionally on the golf course and we were very impressed with the moisture wicking properties as well as the comfort provided from the stretch fit. The Tux Banded Sleeve Tech Polo is available in three colors, including two variations of navy as well as cream.

Flag & Anthem Beaufort Flamingo Polo

The Beaufort Flamingo Print polo is a traditional looking three-button front polo that epitomizes Flag & Anthems extreme versatility. This really is a golf polo that could be worn with a pair of jeans for dinner or some shorts for a trip to the beach. Built in UPF sun protection and moisture wicking material is ideal for those hotter days on the course.It is extremely lightweight and breathable and comes in a tailored fit. However it must be said it didn’t have quite as much stretch or length as we’d hoped. We often found this shirt came untucked and would benefit from a longer tail section. The Flamingo and co*cktail print offer something different and are combined with a heathered colorway.

Peter Millar Lyons Long-Sleeve Polo

In testing, we felt that the Lyons Performance Jersey Long-Sleeve Polo is an excellent choice offering many benefits. Part shirt, part jersey, it is the most comfortable base layer that our tester has ever worn, with the beautifully soft antimicrobial material a joy to wear and featuring moisture wicking, which effectively meant that it expelled the sweat.

Even on an unseasonably warm October day, we stayed completely dry and fresh and the sun protection that is built into the fabric means it is wearable off the course as on. There's no denying that the Lyons Performance Jersey does a great job of temperature control, which is a necessity when the climate is continuously changing.

Lyle & Scott Golf Team Tipped Polo Shirt

Out the packet, it is clear to see that this is a high-quality polo top, with the Tipped Polo featuring a material blend that allowed us to swing with ease and freedom out on the golf course. What's more, the regular fit was extremely comfortable and struck the perfect balance between being not restrictive, but also not loose.

What really stood out for us was the overall aesthetic, which is a simple, one color design with a two-color piping on the collar. Although there are only two color options, the green we tested was excellent and we loved the tone of it, with the Lyle & Scott eagle logo a nice subtle feature.

The polo shirt is one of the few pieces of apparel that is worn all year round, no matter the weather and so finding one that is comfortable and stylish is a necessity. This transfusion styled polo shirt is certainly on the louder side and will please those looking to stand out or like wearing bold patterns or designs as well as showing their allegiance to the tasty co*cktail.

The four-way stretch provides good comfort and mobility and the material is also moisture wicking allowing you to stay cool and dry on those hot days on the course. The added factor of UPF 50+ protection is also a bonus product of this shirt giving you good sun protection. The fact this shirt is only offered in this colorway is perhaps the only downside as those looking for a slightly more subtle shirt will have to look elsewhere.

Castore Engineered Fit Polo

The Castore Men’s Engineered Fit Polo is one of the lightest polo shirts I’ve ever worn, but it’s still packed full of useful technology. The fit is fairly snug – which I actually prefer – but that won’t be to everyone’s tastes. Fit aside, it’s made from 100% polyester and is highly flexible and breathable. The sleeves hug your arms nicely and the styling is refined and sophisticated.

What’s more, there are side splits at the hem to make sure you stay cool on the course, and the pointed collar is stylish. It comes with Castore branding on the left chest and the logo appears on the right sleeve and the back of the neck. It’s only available in two colours and they are both fairly standard, so those wanting something more jazzy will need to look elsewhere.

Oscar Jacobson Sceneway Jaquard Polo Shirt

A different sort of polo from Oscar Jacobson, this shirt has a stand out design and some interesting differences to a standard polo. The irregular patterns on the shirt we found really eye-catching, without them having to use dramatic changes in color. The shirt also uses poppers on the collar, instead of buttons, these were quick to open and close, but we felt that it gave a standardized look every time it was worn. The shirt is made from polyester and felt it gave high levels of breathability. There is no doubting the jacquard design will not be to everyone’s taste, but it is well worth considering each of the three color options available.

Original Penguin Swinging Pete Novelty Print Polo

This Novelty Print polo is a favorite of ours from Original Penguin’s newest range. It depicts the brand’s mascot, ‘Pete’, swinging a golf club in an all over print pattern which I really liked (but it may put some off).

It is available in two colors, white and caviar, with the former being my top pick of the two. The shirt is made from a mix of recycled polyester, polyester and elastane, which gave me a comfortable fit along with easy freedom of movement.What's more, it is also very lightweight making it the perfect polo for those warm days and, I found it simple to wash clean as well, making it an all-round top polo shirt in terms of performance and one of the coolest looking models on the market right now.

Macade Heath Bomber Shirt

The Heath white bomber shirt is probably one of the most comfortable golf shirts I have ever worn. The box cut approach allows for a tapered style fit that gets tighter around the arms and chest, without becoming overly restricting.

The soft and ultra stretchy fabric made from polyamide and spandex provided superb mobility while swinging and made me feel more athletic just from wearing it. The blade collar with a contrasting color scheme provides a more casual look on the course, while the premium attention to detail through small logos on the chest and on the rear of the neck provide a touch of class.

Nike Dri-FIT ADV Tiger Woods Golf Polo Shirt

This fantastic golf polo is one of the highlights of Nike’s collection and is perhaps one of the most stylish golf polo shirts we’ve had the pleasure of testing. It is super comfortable and lightweight being made of a stretchy polyester material that expands and contracts to your body’s movements.

It doesn’t fit too tightly on the body either, meaning the polo gives you a great range of movement. The fabric also uses Nike’s patented Dri-FIT ADV technology, which wicks moisture away from your body to help you feel dry and cool on the course.

Ping Emmett Long Sleeve Polo

Long sleeve polos have been in the golf fashion wilderness for a few years, but are starting to see a strong comeback in popularity. This example from Ping is another classic-looking garment from a brand that does subtle, quality apparel very well. The Emmett is made with a crease-resistant fabric that also has wonderful stretch properties that offer you an uninhibited swing throughout. Available in three colors, we really enjoyed wearing this polo when it was a bit chillier outside when we could really benefit from the extra cover over the arms but didn’t feel the need to wear a full midlayer over the top.

One of the best features of this polo shirt is the modern, technical fabric. While some of the options in this guide provide a very lightweight but synthetic feel, there’s more substance to this pique polo. It has a fairly athletic fit and will suit those who want a summery look from a slightly more structured polo.

At first sight, this busy-looking polo shirt might seem less than versatile. However, the blue and white version we tested works well with a range of other colors. The overall effect is the same - a trendy, sharp look that will help you stand out on the fairways.

This is one of the most versatile polo’s we have tested this year. Available in a block blue or black colorway, this polo won’t look out of place on the course or participating in any other activity. UPF 50+ protection will help keep you skin safe on those hotter days and reflective logos mean you can also be seen at night.

This polo is very lightweight and breathable, which makes it comfortable to wear for 18 holes and the moisture wicking material helps relieve perspiration and keep you dry. Despite it being lightweight and excellent for outdoor activities, it does fit fairly tight and didn’t possess the mobility we have seen in other golf polo shirts this year.

J Lindeberg Heath Polo

You can feel the premium quality that has been used to put this highly sort after shirt together. With sweat wicking technology the polo shirt also offers TX Jersey fabric which allows for a four-way stretch within the fabric making it one of the most comfortable golf shirts on the market, albeit not the lightest golf shirt out there in terms of weight, which some golfers may prefer. The polo shirt comes as a regular fit and is very much true to size with very little excess material intruding the swing. J.Lindeberg offer this shirt in 11 different colors so there is one for every occasion. The subtle embodied logo on the collar is smart and a great contrast to the loud mesh structure logo detail on the right sleeve.

Farah Golf Starkey Print Polo Shirt

The Farah Starkey polo shirt is made from a lovely stretch fabric that is supremely comfortable to wear and lightweight, making it a perfect polo shirt for those hot summer days.

Due to the stretch properties and fit, we’d recommend sizing down if you’re usually between sizes and like a tighter fit. We loved the styling and print, with this model coming in three different colors - we’d certainly like to see more as it’s got a very broad appeal.

We also loved the blue version that we were testing. It’s both bold and subtle, with just the Farah ‘F’ logo. Given the price we’d also say it’s good value for money, too.

Stuburt Active Tech Coal Polo Shirt

The Stuburt Active-Tech Coal Polo proved to be a comfortable fit. Its long body makes it stay inside the trousers throughout the swing and round and the generous armhole space allows the club to be swung easily. The material’s stretchiness also aids through the swing.

If you are someone who tends to fall between sizes, these aspects probably mean that the smaller of the options would suit better. The downside is that, made of 100% polyester, this polo shirt is not as smooth on the skin as some cotton ones. The front of the shirt is patterned, but the back body is all white in all three color pattern options. The polo shirt is lightweight and dries quickly after washing.
